Kyoto-based sound artist / percussionist / Array Mbira player kita kouhei's 7th solo album "Another Peace" has been released!

A tranquil warm ambient world that blurred like a watercolor painting.

A nostalgic work in which ephemeral sound loops and tape noise are comfortably overlapped, and it feels as if the world of sound emerged quietly in front of you from the milky white mist.

The rare instrument Array Mbira shows various expressions depending on the music, such as the clear tone like dripping water, distortion through the effector, and deep echo.

Also, pay attention to the track that homages Chopin's “Etude OP-10”. It's an ambient drone arrangement of classical masterpieces.

kita kouhei Profile:

Born in 1976, a musician, percussionist, and Array Mbira player living in Kyoto. An artist who creates a unique sound landscape that fuses live musical instruments and electronic music by making full use of the piano that he has been familiar with since childhood, the aesthetic sensibility of paintings that he has always spent with, and the skills of professional percussionists. He also works on commercials, documentary programs, avant-garde stage performances and music for art events.

それぞれの日常、身近な存在、心の中にある小さな安寧を描いた、平和を願う抒情詩。

儚げな音のループやテープノイズが心地良く重なり、まるで乳白色の霧の中から音の世界が目の前に静かに立ち現れたかのように感じる、ノスタルジックさの漂う作品。

レア楽器アレイムビラによる水の滴るような透きとおった音色はもちろんのこと、エフェクターを通して歪ませたり、深くエコーをかけたりと、楽曲によって様々な表情を見せる。
水彩画のような滲みと少しの寂しさが、あたたかく静かなアンビエントの世界を作り出している。

また、クラシックの名曲、ショパンの「別れの曲」をオマージュしてアンビエント・ドローン風にアレンジした楽曲なども聴き所のひとつ。

■ 北航平プロフィール

1976年生まれ、京都市在住の音楽家、打楽器奏者、アレイムビラ奏者。幼少の頃より親しんだピアノ、常に一緒に過ごしてきた絵画の美的感性、プロの現場で培った打楽器の技術を駆使し、生楽器と電子音楽が融合した唯一無二の音風景を創造するアーティスト。CMやドキュメンタリー番組、前衛系舞台やアートイベントの音楽なども多数手掛け、第51回ギャラクシー賞CM部門選奨受賞。
